EVERMERE
From the start, we’ve believed that the most meaningful spaces are never just designed- they are understood.
Our story began in December of 1996 in Mishawaka, Indiana, when Mark Scott Homes was founded with a clear intention: to build with care, integrity, and an unwavering focus on the people trusting us with their homes. Our work centered on thoughtfully crafted single‑family residences and carefully chosen renovation and new construction projects- not driven by volume, but by pride in the work and the relationships behind it.
As the years passed, one thing became increasingly clear. The projects that stayed with us- the ones that felt most personal and most rewarding- were shaped less by square footage and more by story. They required slowing down, asking better questions, and listening closely to how our clients lived, gathered, rested, and grew. Design stopped being a step in the process and became the lens through which every decision was made.
For 29 years, our design work lived naturally inside our construction company. It was shaped by experience, intuition, and the realities of building-not theory alone. We worked quietly and collaboratively, valuing trust over recognition and partnership over spotlight.
But growth brings clarity.
Evermere was born from the realization that the way we design deserved its own voice. Establishing our design studio as a dedicated practice is not a departure from our construction roots- but rather a natural evolution. Decades of building have taught us that the most successful homes are not just beautiful, but deeply aligned with the people who live in them.

Our approach to design is narrative at its core. Every project begins with listening- understanding our clients’ routines, values, aspirations, and the small moments that define their daily lives. From there, we translate story into space, balancing creativity with clarity, and imagination with real‑world constructability. The result is architecture and interiors that feel grounded, intentional, and unmistakably personal. While Evermere and our construction company now operate with independent capacity, they remain closely aligned. This shared history offers flexibility and thoughtful collaboration, giving each project the freedom to be shaped by what best serves the client not overly defined by a fixed formula or predetermined path.
At our core, our values remain unchanged: team, excellence, creativity, communication, and continuous improvement. These principles have guided us for nearly three decades, and they continue to guide every conversation, sketch, and decision we make today.
